CAS Colours & Sketches #220

Hey!

This is my last week of being hostess for the month of April over HERE at CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. I hope I have inspired your creativity over the past few weeks and that this weeks sketch inspires you...

And this is how I decided to use it...

I've had this stamped pattern idea jotted down for a while & I was waiting for the Uniko Style clear stamp set to come back into stock before I shared it with you all! I am happy to report that those who have been waiting for Uniko Style, it is NOW available again HERE!!

Anyway, I have used 3 of the smaller stamps in the set to create the stamped pattern and I used a bright and cheerful colour combination of Lucky Limeade, Pixie Pink and Black. The sentiment and trio of stamped dots are from Originally Organic Additions

I used a Mama Elephant die to die cut the scalloped edge and simply trimmed a rectangle to fit the sentiment. The enamel dots are from Stampin' Up! too.

I hope that I have inspired you to play along this week and if you need a little more inspiration, be sure to head on over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE to see what the amazing Design Team and Guest Designer have created using the sketch.

I look forward to seeing you in the gallery & have fun!

DT project - mix of stamping, masking and sponging

Hey all Rahmat here. Hope you all had a great weekend!
I am up with a step by step pictorial card.

I have ditched my usual CAS style today for this card.

I used a water color paper. I used the outlined flower stamp and stamped using the worn lipstick and riped permission distress inks. I then added the masks, which I cut prior to use. The leaves are stamped using Stampin' Up - wild wasabi.

I then used the blue distress inks to sponge the panel, and splattered some water afterwards, and wiped off with a tissue to get the effect.

I then used the distress inks along with the zig markers to color the flowers, using a water brush.

Once the coloring as done,  I stamped the sentiment, the bold sentiment is heat embossed in clear embossing powder. I edged one side with a striped chipboard and added to the white base. A few black rhine stones to finish off. I also added a tiny flower stamped in distress ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder on vellum, fussy cut and added on the top.

Supplies:
Uniko - Beautiful Blooms II

 All Occasion Sentiment #6

 Simply Said Birthday

Water color Paper
Distress inks - worn lipstick, riped permission, broken china , and tumbled glass
Zig clean color markers
Archival black ink
Striped chipboard
Black rhine stones
White card stock

I hope you find it interesting!

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

CAS Colours & Sketches #219

Hey!

Another week has passed and another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge is upon us and this week as your hostess I have another colour combination HERE and seen below to hopefully inspire you...

And this is how I decided to use it...

My creative mojo has been a little off this past week or so and I am finding it hard to create, even when I have the time to do so. I think it is waiting for a batch of new stamps to arrive ;)Anyway, I still had Natures Treasures on my desk from last weeks card and thought the images suited the colours.

I only have Old Olive in ink format and so I decided to use the Tip Toe Taupe as my card base. I stamped the large wavy foliage in VersaMark ink and used a Mama Elephant die to compliment the wavy design.

The sentiment is from Simply Said, which I stamped first and then stamped the leaf image also trying to compliment the wave of the die cut. I then finished the design off with a trio of enamel dots, a close a match as possible to Mint Macaron.

I hope that I have inspired you to play along this week and if you need a little more inspiration, be sure to head on over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE to see what the amazing Design Team and Guest Designer have created using the colours.

I look forward to seeing you in the gallery & have fun!

DT Inspiration - Partial fussy cutting

Hello all Rahmat here. I am up with a simple card with a short pictorial. I have used the partial fussy cutting here.

I stamped the butterfly in a blue ink. I colored it using zig clean color brush markers, and used a water brush to blend in the colors. I was aiming for a rainbow shade.

I used a bubble stencil and sponged it using Hero Arts Neon Ink - sunshine around the butterfly. I then drew a light line to guide myself for the fussy cutting. I had cut from the bottom here.

I used foam adhesive to add the butterfly panel to the base. The sentiment is from Pure Florals Cosmos, stamped in blue on a white strip and edged with a blue glitter strip.

Finally a few jewels to finish off.

I hope you give this technique a try, it works with any kind of stamps, and adds interest to the cards.

Supplies:

 Pure florals - Cosmos

CAS Colours & Sketches #218

Hey!

Oh my, these days & weeks are certainly flying by! I think I'm finding them to pass so quick as my days and evenings are filled to the brim ;)

My days are spent entertaining and occupying two crazy beans! They are proper little boys, loving playing outside and getting dirty now the days are getting warmer and dryer ;) Though they are pretty good the majority of the time and play well together, so I do get the 'odd' moment to get things done. You can guarantee that if I get any kind of 'work' out to do they want me for something! So, I have been 'trying' to get it done once they go to bed, which occasionally has been a challenge :(

Hence the time I do get has been spent on getting new products ready for release on 6th May, which is the day I will be at Happy Stampers Festival in the Wirral (Liverpool) - YAY! Are you planning on coming...? I'd love to see you if you are :)

Anyway, I did find a little creative time to make todays card using hostess sketch for this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches challenge HERE and seen below.

And this is how I decided to use it...

For some reason I *really* wanted to make a shaker card and in my head I had forgotten about the vertical strip on the sketch! So, I adapted my original idea of how I was going to make the shaker but still got to make one!

I purposefully didn't include a sentiment on the sketch as sometimes cards just don't need one on the front. Though the little square on the sketch could easily be where a sentiment could go or be placed. I decided to make a Spring card inspired by the current AAA Cards challenge HERE

I chose the solid flower from Flower Power #2 which is a modern Blossom flower design and paired it with a couple of leaves from Natures Treasures. I stamped them in colours to match the pretty pastel sequins in the shaker, which are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I hope that I have inspired you to play along this week and if you need a little more inspiration, be sure to head on over to the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE to see what the amazing Design Team and Guest Designer have created using the colours.

I look forward to seeing you in the gallery & have fun!

Design Team Inspiration - Pocket Power

Hello, it's Jane here today with some ideas about using pockets on your cards.  Do you remember this card?

I suggested popping a gift card or note or money in the pocket as an Easter gift and went on to make two more versions to send to my two grandsons - using their favourite colours of course!

Supplies:
 SomeBunnyPP

And that got me to thinking about other occasions when it might be fun to have a pocket to slip a little something into. And with all the craze for adult colouring going on at the moment I thought it would be a fabulous idea to include some pre-stamped cards for the recipient to colour in themselves.  This next card was created with that in mind.

The die cut mandela is inserted in the pocket uncoloured, but naturally I couldn't resist having a bit of a colour myself too - got to share the fun after all!

Supplies:
 MarvellousMehndiPP

My next idea for using a pocket really harps back to my teaching days - seems you can never get rid of that teacher influence no matter how hard you try! It's a motivational pocket.

I was thinking about a task that needs a bit of encouragement to complete and the three little splats on the removable strip could be coloured or a sticker added as success is achieved. When all the splats are coloured the large removeable splat could be worn as a sticker. I'm hoping this may work for a bit of potty training with my grandson.

Other educational uses that spring to mind are using the pocket to hold strips of coloured card to match with objects on a colour treasure hunt or adding strips of card with ideas for things to do on a rainy day- stamp in a puddle, watch the raindrops have a race down the window etc. or even holding flashcards of those tricky to learn to read words. I could go on for ever, but hope that's got your ideas flowing too.

Supplies:
 ExplosionAdditionsPP     ExplosionPP

I also think this pocket idea would be great for Father's Day or Mother's Day too, with maybe a list of tasks that would be done to accompany the flowers and gift - you know like doing the washing up, going to bingo with them, giving them a manicure, mowing the grass etc. etc.  I'm leaving you with that idea to ponder on.

Thanks for looking and keep crafting!
